Smartstox interview with from newsletter editor, Jay Taylor
|
| |
At the Cambridge House Toronto Resource Investment Conference, Smartstox spoke with a number of analysts about their views on the market, and investing in the natural resource sector. Jay Taylor is editor of J. Taylor's Gold & Technology Stocks newsletter, and one of the most well regarded analysts in the business.
Jay believes the US economy is in for some tough sledding. Actually, “hell in a hand basket” is how he phrases it. He doesn’t question that a breakdown is coming, his query is just when it will unfold. Jay believes that constant meddling in the markets by central bankers compromises the strength of the economic system. By printing more paper dollars and not allowing the market to self-adjust, overall debt is ballooning and either hyperinflation or a collapse of the debt markets will be at hand.
As a hedge against inflation, Jay says that precious metals, gold in particular, maintain their purchasing power over time, while fiat currencies do not. Junior explorers with promising gold properties, and mining majors with the clout to develop these properties, are good places to look for leverage in a period of rising metal prices.
