Magnus International Resources (US pink sheets: “MGNU”) has five gold exploration projects in Uganda. The Company has a very experienced exploration team carrying out the exploration programs, including managers with 30 years combined experience in Africa.
Initial drilling results are expected in the near-term from Magnus’ Lugazi, Mashonga and Mwerusandu properties, where exploration over the last 18 months has defined strong soil anomalies and high grade gold and PGE values in trenches and rock samples.
- The first phase of 2,037m RC drilling is complete at Lugazi, which forms part of a 5,000m drilling program on three of Magnus’ five projects
- Completed comprehensive soil and rock geochemistry and airborne magnetic surveys, identifying highly anomalous and coherent gold zones on all three properties
- Obtained a very large land package on 5 projects, totaling 3,576 sq km and is at the forefront of mineral exploration in Uganda
- Regional lineaments that link major gold deposits in Tanzania and the DRC, extend through south-western Uganda, where three of Magnus’ projects are located
- The Kibaran metallogenic belt that hosts major gold, tin, tungsten and nickel deposits, extends from southern DRC into Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania, and continues into southwestern Uganda

Mashonga project is in the Buhweju goldfields of SW Uganda, the most prolific gold producing region in Uganda. Over 200,000 ounces gold from alluvial sources since the 1930’s.
- Granite and unconformity related gold, platinum and palladium mineralisation in early Proterozoic host rocks
- A 3km long gold-in-soil anomaly identified within Buganda-Toro schists and granite intrusions
- Composite rock grab samples from the Mashonga mine dump returned values of 58.8 g/t gold, 4.15 g/t platinum and 3.68g/t palladium
- Historical work from 1999 shows sample results taken from a shear zone underground at Mashonga, including 874g/t gold and 309g/t silver
- Magnus has planned a 2500m RC drill program to target a gold-PGE shear zone at depth, and the 3km long soil anomaly
