Gold Moderately Down, At Daily Low, As U.S. Dollar Moves Up
(Kitco News) - Gold prices are seeing moderate losses and are trading near their daily lows in late-morning action Wednesday. A rally in the U.S. dollar index today has put some more downside pressure on the precious metals prices. Higher U.S. stock index prices today also suggest there is little risk aversion in the marketplace to provide any support to the safe-haven gold and silver markets. August gold was last down $4.50 an ounce at $1,255.50.
