First Cobalt Acquires 100% Ownership of Iron Creek Project

Company officials report that First Cobalt Corp. (TSXV, ASX: FCC) is now owner and has eliminated an outstanding royalty on the Iron Creek property in Idaho. The company previously leased the property. First Cobalt acquired the property for a one-time $1.07 million payment to the leaseholder. As of June 30, First Cobalt says it had a cash balance of $20 million and an additional $2 million in current assets. The company says it is fully financed to complete all current work programs, including more than 30,000 meters of drilling to further test cobalt-copper mineralized zones. “Our outlook for the Iron Creek project was instrumental in the decision to eliminate the outstanding royalty and acquire 100% ownership of the project at this time,” says Trent Mell, president and chief executive officer. “Drilling has identified two broad zones of cobalt-copper mineralization that extend well beyond the historic resource area.” He adds that First Cobalt anticipates releasing preliminary metallurgical work and a maiden resource estimate for Iron Creek in the next few weeks.
