Golden Phoenix Announces Kent Aveson to Fill Top Position as General Manager of
Ashdown Mine
SPARKS, Nev., Oct. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Golden Phoenix Minerals, Inc.
(OTC Bulletin Board: GPXM - News), is pleased to announce that Kent Aveson, an
experienced mining professional, has accepted the position of General Manager of the
Ashdown Project LLC, which operates the Ashdown molybdenum mine located in Humboldt
County, Nevada.
In accepting the General Manager position, Mr. Aveson is charged with bringing the
Ashdown Mine through is final phases of start-up and into full-scale production. Mr.
Aveson will be leaving his post as Director of Continuous Improvement at Barrick Gold
and assume his responsibilities at Ashdown beginning October 15, 2007.
Shareholders of Golden Phoenix know Mr. Aveson from his service to the Company as a
member of its Board of Directors. Mr. Aveson will step down as one of Ashdown's five
Management Committee Members in order to participate at Management Committee meetings
in his new capacity as GM. Golden Phoenix, which holds three votes on the Management
Committee, will appoint a replacement Member to fill the post vacated by Mr. Aveson. |
