Harmony Gold Reports Fatal Accident
Harmony Gold Mining Co. Ltd. (NYSE: HMY; JSE: HAR) reports that an employee died in groundfall incident at its Tshepong mine near Welkom in the Free State on Tuesday afternoon. “Challenging conditions continue to impact the recovery of the deceased,” the company says. An investigation of the accident is occurring. Management extends “heartfelt condolences to the family, colleagues and friends of the deceased,” Harmony says.

Red Eagle Stockpiling Ore Ahead Of Mill Start-Up

Red Eagle Mining Corp. (TSX, BVL: R) says it expects to have stockpiled 21,000 tonnes of ore prior to the planned January mill start-up at its Santa Rosa gold project in Colombia. The company has provided an update on operations, reporting that underground development is advancing according to plan, with 383 meters done in November and 4,876 meters completed in the year to date. San Ramon currently has 18 working attack ramps, with 10 in production, four completed and ready for production and four in development. Stope mining operations continued to ramp up ahead of schedule, the company says. Red Eagle is focused on building shareholder value through acquiring, developing and operating gold projects in Colombia.
