Alamos: Extension Of High-Grade Mineralization At Island Gold Mine
Alamos Gold Inc. (TSX, NYSE: AGI) reports that underground exploration at the Island Gold Mine has resulted an extension of high-grade gold mineralization on three main areas of focus – the main, eastern and western extensions. The main extension includes one finding of 32.06 grams of gold per tonne over 4.1 meters; the eastern extension includes several findings of 35 or more g/t, including one of 71.27 g/t over 4.92 meters; and the western extension includes a finding of 31.54 g/t over 5.07 meters. Alamos reports that the exploration budget increased 20% to $18 million for 2018. Two additional surface rigs have been mobilized, bringing the total to six. “Island Gold continues to exceed expectations,” says John A. McCluskey, president and chief executive officer. “2017 exploration increased mineral reserves in both size and quality. Results this year are demonstrating the potential to enlarge the mineral resource across multiple extensions of the ore body.”
