Gold Extends Gains, At 5-Mo. High, As U.S. Stock Market Sell-Off Intensifies
(Kitco News) - Gold prices are holding double-digit gains and have pushed to a nearly five-month high in afternoon U.S. trading Friday. Another big sell off in the U.S. stock market this afternoon is lending safe-haven demand to the gold market. The technical posture for the gold market has also improved markedly recently, to suggest more upside price action for the yellow metal in the near term. February gold was last up $10.90 an ounce at $1,254.50.
