Great Panther Announces Name Change; Beadell Acquisition Finalized

Great Panther Silver Ltd. has changed its name to Great Panther Mining Ltd. (TSX: GPR; NYSE American: GPL) and has completed the acquisition of Beadell Resources Ltd. The acquisition "immediately transforms Great Panther into an intermediate precious-metals producer with a strong and diversified portfolio of producing mines, advanced stage growth projects, and exploration assets," says James Bannantine, president and chief executive officer of Great Panther Mining. "Combining Great Panther and Beadell's respective guidance adds to approximately 200,000 of gold-equivalent ounces for 2019 and positions the company in the ranks of intermediate producers” He says the company’s near-term focus will be on the integration of Brazilian operations, continued optimization of the Tucano gold mine, and advancing an exploration program for Tucano. Nicole Adshead-Bell, former chief executive and managing director of Beadell, joins Great Panther's board of directors.

Greg McCunn To Become CEO Of Asanko Gold

Greg McCunn has been named chief executive officer and director of Asanko Gold Inc. (TSX, NYSE American: AKG), effective April 1, the company announces. Peter Breese, current president and CEO, will transition to the newly created position of president and chief operating officer, reporting to McCunn, and will remain a director. McCunn was previously Asanko’s chief financial officer from 2011 to 2017. Breese will be responsible for operations at the flagship Asanko Gold Mine in Ghana, maintain oversight on the Esaase development program and oversee the technical team in its Johannesburg project office. “Greg’s in-depth knowledge of the business, the country, our values and processes will make this a seamless transition,” Breese says.

Andrea S. Freeborough Named Next CFO Of Kinross Gold

Andrea S. Freeborough has been named chief financial officer of Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX: K; NYSE: KGC), effective May 1. She will succeed Tony S. Giardini, who will be leaving the company, Kinross says. Giardini will assist in the transition, the company says. J. Paul Rollinson, president and chief executive officer, says Giardini’s focus on capital management strengthened the company’s financial position. “Andrea’s successful track record at Kinross and throughout her career, including accounting, international finance, M&A [merger and acquisition], and deep management experience, will be an excellent addition to our leadership team,” Rollinson said. She first joined Kinross in 2009 as vice president, corporate controller, before moving into other duties.
