Palladium Demand Won't Let Up - Matt Watson
Auto makers won't make a switch from palladium to platinum for a handful of years, says Matt Watson, President at Precious Metals Commodity Management.
Walsh spoke to Kitco News on Friday, April 26, 2019.
Platinum is mostly used for catalytic converters in diesel engines while palladium is used in gasoline engines. Diesel is out of favor and tighter regulations on gasoline engines have increased demand for palladium.
Walsh says demand for palladium won't let up. Palladium recycling is constrained and automakers are years out from finding a substitution for palladium in catalytic converters.
