(Kitco News) - Gold prices have extended early gains and pushed to new daily highs and are sharply higher near midday Monday, in the immediate aftermath of comments by President Trump in the Oval Office, in which he said Iran is the number-one sponsor of terrorism in the world and that new, tough U.S. sanctions against Iran will be employed. August gold was last up $18.30 at $1,418.30.
