Kitco News

(Kitco News) - Roxgold Inc. (TSX: ROXG) remains in line with its full-year production guidance at the Yaramoko Gold Mine in Burkina Faso, the company said late Wednesday.

Officials reported second-quarter output of 34,354 ounces of gold, up from 33,652 in the first quarter but down from 35,828 in the second quarter of 2018.

Roxgold reported record quarterly plant throughput of 113,866 tonnes, adding that this exceeded increased nameplate capacity of 1,100 tonnes per day by approximately 14%.

“The first half saw a solid operating performance at Yaramoko with gold production of 68,006 ounces, and we continue to remain on track to achieve our annual production guidance of between 145,000 and 155,000 ounces,” said John Dorward, president and chief executive officer.

He later added: “Stoping operations at Bagassi South commenced during the quarter, positioning production from Yaramoko to be stronger during the second half of 2019.”
