(Kitco News) - The International Precious Metals Institute (IPMI) announced its acquisition of the Precious Metals Association Of North America (PMANA) on Tuesday.

IPMI, the premier trade association for the precious metals, said it made sense to combine its resources with the PMANA.

“The Precious Metals Association Of North America … had a substantial number of IPMI members and participated in IPMI events and seminars. It simply made sense for both organizations to combine resources and programs by becoming part of IPMI,” IPMI president Larry Drummond said in a press release.

The acquisition will bring new benefits to IPMI members, added Drummond.

“PMANA brings IPMI a renewed focus on public policy — particularly legislative affairs and is another step in providing more services and benefits to IPMI members,” he stated.

IPMI will also be sponsoring PMANA’s fall legislative conference, which is scheduled to take place on October 29-30 in Washington, DC. The trade association will also continue to use Miller/Wenhold Capitol Strategies.
