Smart watches, Bluetooth headphones to get tariffs Sept. 1: USTR
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Some consumer electronics items spared from previous U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods, including smart watches, fitness trackers, smart speakers and Bluetooth headphones, were not given a reprieve by the Trump administration’s delays in some tariffs on Tuesday.
According to lists published by the U.S. Trade Representative’s office, a broad category of items taken off a $200 billion tariff list last year will be subject to a 10% tariff as of Sept. 1. Popular products on the list include smart watches made by Apple Inc (AAPL.O) and Fitbit (FIT.N), smart speakers from Amazon.com Inc (AMZN.O), Apple and Alphabet Inc’s Google (GOOG.O) and Bluetooth connected devices.
