Blackham Resources' Matilda-Wiluna gold mine will be powered by Cummins HSK78G gas generator.
Cummins, which announced the procurement earlier this week, said the new gas-powered generator will provide up to 20% of the mine's power.
Cummins said the mine is located 500m above sea level and is subject to extreme temperatures, ranging from -2°C to 50°C throughout the year.
Blackham is currently expanding its mining operations to take advantage of the high Australian gold price.
