Diamond miner resorts to diesel generators

(Kitco News) - South African Firestone Diamonds placed an order for diesel generators to run the mine's processing plant.
The company said it was operating without sufficient power and has been trying to resolve the issue with ESKOM, South Africa's power utility. The company is waiting for power to be restored from the Muela Hydropower Station.
The company expects the generators by the end of the month and to have them up and running in November.
Firestone is a mid-tier diamond producer. In its last year end the company poroduced 835,832 carats at 22 carats per hundred tonnes.
