OSLO (Reuters) - Norwegian oil major Equinor (EQNR.OL) has started a process to identify a new chief executive, newspaper Stavanger Aftenblad reported on Friday, citing unnamed sources.

Equinor’s current CEO, 63-year-old Eldar Saetre, has not set a date for his departure, but could step down during 2020, the newspaper reported.

A company spokesman declined to comment when contacted by Reuters.

“I’m going to stay here ... the future will decide, I’m very happy in the job,” Eldar Saetre told Reuters on Oct. 24 on the sidelines of an earnings presentation.
