Who will win the 2020 presidential election? Doug Casey weighs in on what matters
(Kitco News) - On the 2020 presidential elections, Doug Casey, founder of Casey Research, said that the outcome will depend on the economic conditions at the time.
“It all depends on the economy, and that’s not a new observation. I think Clinton said that quite correctly years ago,” he said.
Casey noted that volatility is bubbling under the surface as another economic downturn, much greater than anything we’ve seen before, is coming.
“I’ve been saying we’re going to have a Greater Depression for years. It’s going to be much worse, much different, and much longer lasting than the unpleasantness of 1929 to 1946,” Casey said, adding that he has lower hopes for Donald Trump being re-elected.
“I’m not betting on Trump this year. It doesn’t matter who wins, the next president is going to have a tiger by the tail. Now, this is very, very serious,” he said.
