Petra Diamonds says power is restored to mines

Kitco News

Petra Diamonds (LON:PDL) said today that Eskom, the South African power provider, lifted its load curtailment restrictions, and Petra's mining operations in South Africa are now operating at normal load levels.

Two days ago Petra said mining operations were running at a 20% load curtailment. The company said it used the reduction in power to conduct maintenance.

Petra has three underground mines in South Africa--Finsch, Cullinan and Koffiefontein--and one open pit mine in Tanzania, Williamson.

The company has a resource base of about 250 million carats.
