Yamana: 2019 gold-equivalent production tops guidance

(Kitco News) - Yamana Gold Inc. (TSX: YRI; NYSE: AUY) reported Wednesday that 2019 preliminary gold-equivalent production exceeded the company’s guidance.

Officials said the company produced 221,595 ounces of gold in the fourth quarter, bringing full-year output to 900,339 ounces. This was slightly above guidance of 899,000.

Fourth-quarter silver production of 2,967,867 ounces brought the full-year total to 10,640,156, which was above guidance of 10 million ounces, Yamana continued.

Full-year gold-equivalent output of 1,024,454 million ounces topped full-year guidance of 1,010,000, Yamana said.

Among the highlights, Yamana said the Jacobina mine posted record quarterly production of 41,774 ounces of gold and all-time-high full-year production of 159,499 ounces. This topped revised guidance of 152,000 ounces set in June, Yamana said.

Meanwhile, El Peñón posted its highest quarterly and yearly production since “rightsizing” of the operation in late 2016, Yamana said. Gold output for the quarter was 48,131 ounces and full year production was 159,515 ounces, above guidance for 150,000 ounces.
