Kitco to announce 'CEO of the Year' on Thursday, March 4, 2021
2020 was an extraordinary year for the mining sector. Despite the challenges caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic, companies created unprecedented value for investors and supported their communities during difficult times.
In celebration and recognition of these accomplishments, Kitco News – the leader in precious metals and commodities news – is excited to announce its 'CEO of the Year' for 2020 in the mining and exploration categories.
|The announcement will be made Thursday, March 4, 2021, during a special live broadcast beginning at 3:30 p.m. ET, which can be seen on kitco.com and on our official YouTube channel youtube.com/kitconews|
A panel of mining experts was convened to determine the most deserving CEOs in both categories.
"Last year was a tumultuous year. COVID-19 had an out-sized impact on miners who had to manage worker safety often in remote locations. Metal prices also took huge swings. However, miners were uniquely equipped to manage. The industry is built to manage risk," said mining audiences manager Michael McCrae.
Kai Hoffmann at Soar Financial was one of the expert panelists. "The industry is filled with so many people who are making unique and out-sized efforts, often unsung. It was definitely a difficult decision this year," said Hoffmann.
Kitco's Media Director John Dourekas is happy to recognize accomplishments within the mining and exploration industry.
"Kitco's 'CEO of the Year' celebrates the accomplishments of leaders, executives, and their management teams behind the year's most outstanding mining initiatives and achievements. This annual awards program recognizes individuals and teams who set industry benchmarks for distinction," said Dourekas.
When the winner is announced, Kitco will make an in-kind donation to the CEO's charity of choice.
