Galaxy Resources votes for merger with Orocobre

Galaxy Resources said today that the majority of its shareholders voted in favor of a merger with Orocobre.

Announced in April the A$4 billion deal (US$2.94 billion)is expected to establish a top five lithium company.

Galaxy still has some court hearings to finalize the merger.

Galaxy Resources has lithium production facilities, hard rock mines and brine assets in Australia, Canada and Argentina. It wholly owns and operates the Mt Cattlin mine in Ravensthorpe Western Australia, which is currently producing spodumene and tantalum concentrate. Galaxy is also advancing the development of the Sal de Vida lithium brine project in Argentina situated in the lithium triangle.
