South Africa's DRDGOLD doubles earnings in 2021, declares dividend

(Kitco News) - DRDGOLD (JSE, NYSE: DRD), a South African gold producer and a world leader in the recovery of gold from the retreatment of surface tailings, announced today that its earnings per share for the year ended 30 June 2021 were 168.4 South African cents, an increase of 104% compared to the previous year.

The company said that increase in EPS for the current reporting period compared to the previous corresponding period was due mainly to revenue increase by 26% to R5,269.0 million (2020: R4,185.0 million).

During the year ended 30 June 2021, DRDGOLD generated free cash flow (cash inflow from operating activities less cash outflow from investing activities) of R1.1 billion. The group said it remains free of any bank debt as at 30 June 2021 (30 June 2020: Rnil).

The company added that its Board has declared a final cash dividend of 40 SA cps for the year ended 30 June 2021.
