Bear market is imminent; Short these stocks, real estate - Anmol Singh

Kitco News

(Kitco News) - A market crash is different from a bear market; a crash is a significant downward move in a very short amount of time, usually followed by a swift recovery, while a bear market is a prolonged downward trend.

Anmol Singh, founder of Live Traders, said that a bear market is likely to come next for U.S. stocks.

"The trendline has clearly broken, but the trend hasn't broken," Singh said. "My rule of thumb is pretty simple: if the markets drop 10% from all-time highs, start putting your positions back on. Market goes down 20%, now you start getting in full, but definitely not the time to be buying, in my opinion."

Singh discusses with David Lin, anchor for Kitco News, the securities he's shorting now in anticipation of a broad market sell-off. For his stock picks, watch the video above. Follow David Lin on Twitter:@davidlin_TV.
