Copper production in Chile falls 3.2% in October - report

(Kitco News) - According to a report by the Chilean state copper commission Cochilco released today, the domestic copper production in October 2021 was 470,700 tonnes, a decline of 3.2% compared to 486,500 tonnes mined in October 2020.

Escondida, the world’s largest copper mine, produced 84,700 tonnes of copper in October 2021, which is 15.2% lower compared to October 2020 (99,900 tonnes).

Collahuasi, the world’s second largest copper mine, produced 49,500 tonnes of copper in October 2021, up 17.3% compared to 42,200 tonnes of copper mined in October 2020.

Cochilco said that Codelco, the largest copper mining company worldwide, produced 144,100 tonnes of copper in October 2021, or 9.9% less compared to October 2020.
