China Gold International achieves record gold and copper production in 2021, exceeds guidance
(Kitco News) - China Gold International (TSX: CGG) announced today that its consolidated gold production of approximately 244,345 ounces in 2021 exceeded annual production guidance of 235,000 ounces by about 4%.
The company added that its 2021 copper production of approximately 191 million pounds exceeded annual production guidance of 177 million pounds by more than 7%.
Importantly, the company pointed out that it expects further production growth in 2022, with anticipated gold production of between 241,130 ounces and 250,775 ounces, and anticipated total copper production of between 187 million pounds and 198 million pounds.
Chairman and CEO Liangyou Jiang commented, "2021 was an important year for the company to enter a new stage of operations. We have successfully overcome unfavorable factors such as the Covid-19 pandemic, carefully organized production and continuously improved the quality of operations. As a result, the company achieved record production for both gold and copper and exceeded the annual guidance in 2021. In 2022, we are confident to move towards higher goals and continue to create value for shareholders."
