Why battery metal developers are heading to Quebec - Lomiko Metals
(Kitco News) - Quebec is one of the best jurisdictions in the world for battery metal resource companies, said Lomiko Metals CEO Belinda Labatte.
On Monday Labatte spoke to Kitco at the Mining Investment Event of the North in Quebec City.
Lomiko (CVE:LMR) is developing two main projects in Quebec: La Loutre, 100% owned by Lomiko and is being explored for high-grade, large-flake graphite, and Bourier, which has been optioned by Lomiko and is being explored for lithium.
Notable battery metal exploration and development companies in the Quebec include Nouveau Monde Graphite, Northern Graphite, Nemaska Lithium and Sayona Mining.

"[Quebec] is arguably one of the best jurisdictions—not just in Canada but in the world—because there's such a push to develop this new EV industry," said Labatte. "Nouveau Monde is really the champion of that, and we are here to develop a model for being an operator of choice in southern Quebec."
