Gareth Soloway's Trading Tips: A Guide from a Master Trader
Psychology and discipline can be just as important as technical acumen when being a trader, said Gareth Soloway, Chief Market Strategist at InTheMoneyStocks.com and VerifiedInvestingEducation.com
"The best traders in the world are the ones that have no emotion whatsoever," he said. "All they're doing is looking at facts on a chart… Emotion is great in life. Love, empathy, and sympathy, those are all great times to have emotion. It's just that in trading, it will eventually work against you."
Soloway recalled that he had, in his past, made every mistake a trader can make, and has learned from these experiences. Today, he makes a living from trading in markets.
"I wasn't born with a golden ticket," he said. "Eventually, over the course of years, making so many mistakes, making every mistake that everyone is making today and has made in the past, I finally started to struggle to the point where I was starting to force myself to learn the charts. And the charts started to show me that patterns repeat. Patterns are representations of humans buying and selling. Human psychology and emotion never changes… If you can learn how to read the signals and the charts, you can actually profit from both bull markets and bear markets."
