SSR Mining restarts operations at the Copler gold mine
(Kitco News) - SSR Mining (NASDAQ/TSX: SSRM) today announced the receipt of the required regulatory approvals from Türkiye’s Government authorities and will commence restart of all operations at the Çöpler mine as of September 22nd, 2022.
SSR Mining said that during Ҫӧpler’s temporary suspension, the company accelerated and completed planned maintenance in Çöpler’s sulfide plant that had been previously scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2022, which included scheduled partial relining of the face bricks in Autoclave 1.
With this maintenance work now complete, no scheduled maintenance is planned for Çöpler for the remainder of 2022, the company added.
The Çöpler gold mine (80% SSRM owned) is part of the Çöpler District located in east-central Türkiye in the Erzincan Province, approximately 1,100 km southeast from Istanbul and 550 km east from Ankara, Türkiye's capital city.
The Çöpler Mine has been operating since 2010 and is currently processing ore through two producing plants – the oxide and sulfide plants. The oxide ore is processed via heap leach and the sulfide ore is processed using pressure oxidation. The current estimated mine life is over 20 years. In 2021, it produced 329,276 ounces of gold at mine site AISC of $713 per payable ounce of gold sold.
