Indonesia to appeal after losing WTO nickel dispute with EU
JAKARTA, Nov 30 (Reuters) - Indonesia has lost its trade dispute against the European Union (EU) over the Southeast Asian country's 2020 ban on exports of nickel ore, President Joko Widodo said on Wednesday.
Speaking at an investment event, the president said he had ordered his ministers to appeal the World Trade Organisation's (WTO) decision. The EU launched its WTO complaint after saying the restrictions unfairly limited its stainless steel producers' access to nickel in particular, and other commodities.
