(Kitco News) -  Former U.S. President Donald Trump has become the latest celebrity to jump on the NFT bandwagon with the release of his own NFT collection dubbed the Donald Trump Digital Trading Card collection.

Trump revealed the new collection via a post on his social media platform Truth social, saying the limited edition cards feature “amazing ART” from the former reality TV star’s life and career. At a going price of $99 per card, Trump urged his followers to hop on the opportunity while it lasts.

According to the official website for the collection, each digital trading card is considered a rare collectible. Each purchase automatically enters the buyer into a sweepstakes for a chance to win one of the thousands of available prizes, including a chance to have a 1-on-1 Zoom call or one hour of golf with Trump.

There is also the opportunity to receive a guaranteed ticket to a gala dinner with Trump in South Florida for anyone who purchases 45 of the digital trading cards. Buyer beware though, as Rolling Stone has previously reported that Trump has failed to honor one-to-one meeting contests during past fundraisers.

“These are just like baseball cards, but you collect them digitally, on your computer or phone,” the website says. “All you need is an email address and a credit card to start collecting 1, 10, 20 or 100. Instantly become part of a new league of collectors.”

The collection will be minted on the Polygon blockchain, with a total of 45,000 NFTs created in the "initial" run of the collection.

“Each Trump Digital Trading Card has a unique pre-assigned rarity. Some will be one-of-one’s (i.e. the only one in the world), while others will be limited to 2, 5, 7, or 10 copies. No Trump Digital Trading Card will have more than 20 copies in existence,” the website says.

Purchases can be made with either a credit card or Wrapped Ether (WETH). The website made sure to stress the fact that the digital trading cards are intended to be collectible items for individual enjoyment only, not for investment purposes.

Holders will be able to sell their NFTs directly with friends or on any secondary marketplace that accepts Polygon-based NFTs/digital collectibles. “On each secondary sale of a Trump Digital Trading Card, there will be a 10% royalty on the sale price that will be paid back to the creator,” according to the terms and conditions.
