The lithium sector viewed by a key mining supplier - Metso Outotec
(Kitco News) - A key supplier to the lithium space says the project pipeline in North America is good.
Earlier this month Metso Outotec's Tim Robison, VP Minerals Sales and Mikko Rantaharju,
VP of Hydrometallurgy, spoke to Kitco.
Metso Outotec has been tapped for some high-profile lithium projects. In September Metso Outotec was chosen by Piedmont Lithium to help supply its $600-million Tennessee Lithium Project, a planned 30,000 metric ton per year LHP2 lithium hydroxide operation. And just this December Metso Outotec inked a deal with Sibanye-Stillwater’s subsidiary Keliber to provide soda pressure leaching technology for Keliber’s lithium hydroxide refinery, which will be built in Kokkola, Finland. Metso Outotec said the value of the order was $128 million.
Robinson sees more work ahead.
"There are a lot of projects. The pipeline is quite amazing," said Robinson.
