Kitco News says goodbye to longtime Anchor-Producer
(Kitco News) After more than five years at Kitco News as an anchor and producer, David Lin is leaving to explore another venture.
Lin started as a producer at Kitco News in late 2017 and transitioned into the anchor/producer role in 2020, bringing fresh and exciting content to our viewers and readers.
He has contributed to Kitco News' growth as a global authority on precious metals, commodities, and mining news, as well as the expansion into cryptocurrencies and DeFi.
"The last five years at Kitco have been an incredible learning and growth experience for me, but I've decided to move on to challenge myself to expand my horizons," Lin said. "It really is inspiring to work at a globally renowned place. I want to thank Kitco's President Bart Kitner for building an incredible company with a solid international reputation worldwide."
David worked at Kitco's Montreal headquarters and has been instrumental in the growth of the broadcast division.
"We want to thank David for his exceptional service as an anchor-producer for our news organization. His dedication to his work has been outstanding," said John Dourekas, Director of Kitco Media and Institutional Business Development. "David's professionalism and commitment to excellence have set a high standard for our entire news organization."
Lin interviewed CEOs, heads of central banks, finance ministers, mining executives, fund managers, and analysts. He covered many important topics, including the Federal Reserve, the economy, the gold market, the crypto space, commodities, mining, and the latest trends in fintech.
"His hard work, tireless efforts, and unwavering passion for delivering high-quality news have inspired us all. We are grateful for David's contributions and wish him all the best in his future endeavors. We know he will continue to succeed in his next venture," said Dourekas.
Lin worked closely with the entire editorial team and will be greatly missed.
"I have truly enjoyed working with David these past two years and am very proud to see how much he has grown as both an anchor and producer. I am confident he will continue to excel and wish him the best in his further endeavors," said Michelle Makori, Kitco News' Editor-in-Chief and Lead Anchor.
"Special thanks to the leadership team and our director, John Dourekas, for guiding the team with a strong vision. Last but not least, I want to thank Editor-in-Chief Michelle Makori. Her fans know her as a fantastic journalist and host, but I've had the privilege of knowing her as a great mentor and friend. I owe much of what I've become to her training over the last two years," Lin said. "I want to thank the entire editorial team for constantly delivering high-quality news and reports and for giving me an intellectually stimulating environment to work in."
Before joining Kitco, Lin worked as a macroeconomics researcher at BCA Research, focusing on global ETF portfolio construction. David is a McGill University graduate with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Finance.
