Wesdome Gold Mines suspends operations at Kiena Mine due to forest fires

Wesdome Gold Mines (TSX: WDO) announced today that it has temporarily suspended underground activities and surface exploration activities at the Kiena Mine in Val d’Or, Quebec.

The company said that no infrastructure or power supply systems at either Kiena or Eagle operations had been affected, and Eagle operations are running as normal with the closest fire more than 100 kilometres away.

In its 2022 year-end, Wesdome forecast that it would produce between 110,000 and 130,000 ounces of gold in 2023 at all-in sustaining costs of US$1,620 – US$1,800 per ounce sold.
