I Don’t Watch Silver Prices That Closely - CEO
Kitco News kicks off coverage of Gold Stock Analyst Investor Day in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with Fortuna Silver Mines’ CEO Jorge Ganoza, who says he doesn’t pay too much attention to the silver price. ‘I pay more attention to our cost, which is what we control,’ he told Daniela Cambone. Silver prices have been rising since the beginning of the year, hitting October highs earlier this month. However, March Comex silver futures fell sharply Friday, losing most of the month’s gains and settled at $14.689 an ounce. However, this doesn’t concern Ganoza too much. ‘I’m not that bullish [on silver],’ he says. Fortuna is fully funded for 2016, holding over $100 million in cash for the year, which Ganoza says puts the company in a great position to look for opportunities. ‘We are cash flow positive in this price environment so we are looking at valuations out there and identify things that make sense to us.’ Kitco News, February 28, 2016.
