We’re Already in Cold War 2.0 – So What Does This Mean for Gold?
Geopolitical tensions have been on every investors mind and today’s Kitco News guest says it may only be the beginning. On this edition of “On The Spot,” Daniela Cambone speaks with Martin Weiss, founder of Weiss Research, to see why he thinks we may already be in ‘Cold War 2.0.’ According to Weiss, the source of the conflict back in the 1950’s Cold War is similar to the conflicts we are seeing today. “Then and now, the primary source of conflict is competition over scarce resources around the globe,” he says. “It is even more so today because both sides are functioning on a similar economic system.” He adds that two major areas to benefit from this increasing competition are precious metals and energy. “The three [assets] that I like is cash[….]precious metals investments – bullion and select shares – and I like energy.” Watch now to see what asset class he thinks may be in most danger once the Fed starts raising rates and to see if he thinks gold may be the safest asset class out there.
