MUMBAI, Jan 31 (Reuters) -
STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex fell 308.74 points, or 0.52%,
to 59,191.67, while the broader NSE index lost 69.4
points, or 0.39%, to 17,579.55 in volatile trade on the final
day of Adani Enterprises' mega secondary share sale and ahead of
the country's annual pre-budget economic survey. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee weakened 0.21% and quoted at 81.67 per
dollar, as the greenback firmed and a sell-off in equity markets
weighed. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
The benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 99.22
rupees, with the yield down 3 bps at 7.3741%, as traders likely
covered short positions after the government's plan to launch a
new 10-year paper offset the impact of heavy supply from states
later in the day. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was down
4 bps at 6.69%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate fell 4 bps to 6.25%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was up 5 bps at
6.50%. The overnight TREPS rate was at 6.40%,
compared with the previous day's weighted average of 6.4863%.
