WARSAW, Feb 17 (Reuters) - Polish financial regulator
KNF maintains its view that European Union law does not prevent
banks from receiving remuneration for mortgage contracts that
have been rendered invalid, it said on Friday, contradicting the
opinion of an adviser to the bloc's top court.
An adviser to the European Union's top court on Thursday
backed in an opinion Polish borrowers with Swiss
franc-denominated mortgages in a long-running case that the
country's regulator has warned could cost the country's banks
100 billion zlotys ($22.3 billion).
