"Our main focus is currently on some smaller banks with
little surplus capital and increased interest rate risks - we
are closely monitoring these institutions," the spokesperson
added. "So far, it appears that the German banking system is
robust and could digest the impact of higher interest rates."

BERLIN, March 15 (Reuters) - Germany's financial supervisory
authority (BaFin) sees no direct risk of contagion for the
German financial system from what it called the "the problems of
strongly technology-oriented American banks", a BaFin
spokesperson said on Wednesday.
"However, we continue to keep an eye on market developments
and take them into account as part of our ongoing supervision,"
the spokesperson said in a statement.
