SINGAPORE, March 23 (Reuters) - Bank of America
economists have lowered their U.S. interest rate forecast after
a shift in tone at the Federal Reserve.
BofA analysts said unexpected tightening in bank lending
standards, amid signs of stress in the sector, could substitute
for further hikes. They foresee the Fed funds rate target
peaking at 5-5.25% in May, down from a forecast for 5.25-5.5%.
