Grades typically tend to be more volatile during the roll period as traders use the window to net out exposures. Light Louisiana Sweet narrowed to a $1.35 premium, its weakest since Dec. 13, while Mars Sour also eased. Inland grade WTI Midland gained on Monday to a 60-cent premium after weakening to its lowest since January on Friday.
Oil prices settled higher on Monday, reversing losses as
investors grew optimistic that holiday travel in China would
boost fuel demand in the world's largest oil importer.
