MUMBAI, Feb 2 (Reuters) -
STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex fell 21 points, or 0.04%, to
59,687.08, while the broader NSE index lost 10 points,
or 0.06%, to 17,606.3, dragged by financials on a budgetary
proposal to limit tax exemptions for insurance proceeds, while
Adani Group shares extended their slide. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee strengthened 0.11% versus the U.S.
dollar, and quoted at 81.82 per dollar, as risk assets were
buoyed after the U.S. Federal Reserve meeting, but gains in the
local currency were capped as equities remained jittery. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 99.98
rupees, with yield down 1 bps at 7.2624% vs previous close of
7.2774%, following U.S peers, after markets read comments by Fed
chair Jerome Powell as dovish, helping global sentiment. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was down
5 bps at 6.60%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate fell 6 bps to 6.09%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was down 10 bps at
6.10% against 6.20% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS
rate was at 6.03%, compared with the previous
day's weighted average of 6.1387%.
