MOSCOW, March 2 (Reuters) - Russia's central bank governor said on Thursday that the latest Western sanctions on Russia's banks were not a shock, and that the affected lenders were relatively small and had had time to prepare. The European Union last week added online bank Tinkoff to its sanctions list, which Russia's central bank considers one of the country's 13 "systemically important" financial institutions.
Brussels also sanctioned a number of smaller lenders in the
move, designed to punish Russia for its actions in Ukraine.
