POLITICS Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has vetoed a takeover deal by a cloud services provider due to funding links with Russian internet giant Yandex , according to a government document and three people familiar with the matter.


ECONOMY A package of measures to address the issues holding back Italy's capital markets and reinforce the role of the 200-year-old Borsa Italiana could be presented next week, Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti told parliament on Thursday.


Italy is preparing a new package of measures worth around 5 billion euros ($5.5 billion) to help businesses and families cope with costly energy bills which it plans to announce next week, government officials said on Thursday. DEBT Italy's Treasury will sell up to 5.5 billion euros in BTP bonds at auction on March 28, it said on Thursday.


On Friday, the Treasury is expected to announce the sale of 6-month BOT bills, with relative amounts to be auctioned on March 29.


COMPANIES UNIPOL , UNIPOLSAI (*) The implementation of new accounting standards IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 will have no impact on the targets of the 2024 strategic plan, the two companies said. The group will hold a conference call on 'IFRS 17&9 Guidance' later in the day (1100 GMT).


MEDIOBANCA The Italian financial group said on Thursday it will hold a capital market day and present its 2023-2026 strategic plan on May 24.


BANCA MONTE DEI PASCHI DI SIENA (MPS) The bank said on Thursday its chair Patrizia Grieco has resigned, effective March 26, after accepting a new position in another listed company. Grieco was nominated this week as the new chair of asset manager Anima Holding .


(*) RAI WAY Italian state broadcaster RAI indicated Roberto Cecatto as new chief executive and Giuseppe Pasciucco as new chairman of its towers unit.


DOVALUE The bad loans manager said on Thursday its board confirmed preliminary FY 2022 results announced on Feb. 23, including revenues of 558.2 million euros, EBIDTA of 201.7 million euros and a dividend of 0.60 euros per share, subject to shareholders' approval.
