STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 820.89 points, or 1.42%,
to 58,780.98, while the broader NSE index advaned 231.3
points, or 1.35%, to 17,312, helped by receding concerns over
the U.S. banking sector. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee strengthened 0.14% versus the U.S.
dollar to 82.23 on back of the broad uptick in Asian currencies
fuelled by the positive risk mood. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 99.60
rupees, with yield up 3 bps at 7.3180% with traders assesing the
impact of the April-September borrowing calendar. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was up 4
bps at 6.80%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate rose 4 bps to 6.28%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was unchanged at
6.75%. The overnight TREPS rate was at 6.75%,
compared with the previous day's weighted average of 6.7703%.
