UPDATE 1-Sakhalin Energy to start maintenance at LNG plant in July

(Adds detail, changes sourcing) MOSCOW, April 28 (Reuters) - Russia's Sakhalin Energy will start maintenance at its liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in July, without providing the timeframe for the maintenance, a company manager told its in-house newspaper on Friday. Sakhalin Energy Sakhalin-2's operating company was transformed into a Russian entity via a presidential decree in June amid Western sanctions against Moscow over its actions in Ukraine.


It 2022, it produced 11.5 million tonnes of LNG and 3.7 million tonnes (74,000 barrels per day) of oil.


Sakhalin Energy's production director Alexander Singurov also told the newspaper that the company will halt one of its oil platforms for repairs all summer. "Unlike those of previous years, this year's shutdown will start in May with the Piltun-Astokhskoye-B (PA-B) oil platform," he said. He also said that the Molikpaq platform, Russia's first offshore oil producing platform, will also be shut. "Considering that two of three our platforms are joined together into an integrated oil chain, the PA-B activities will be synchronised with Molikpaq shutdown, which will begin in June upon the completion of interventions and will last until September," he said.
