WARSAW, May 11 - The following are news stories, press reports and events that may affect Poland's financial markets on Thursday. ALL TIMES GMT (Poland: GMT + 2 hour):

RUSSIAN ASSETS The government is gradually taking control of Russian assets in Poland and soon Acron, a Russian shareholder of Polish state-controlled Grupa Azoty, may receive a decision on temporary administration by the Polish state of its stake in the fertilier maker, Puls Biznesu daily reported quoting sources.

POLICY COMMUNICATION Economists expect that before interest rate cuts the Monetary Policy Council (MPC) will announce that it has ended the tightening stage, Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily reported.

RATE CUT There will probably be no economic arguments for easing monetary policy this year, but expectations are strong in the financial market that the MPC will decide to make such a move around the time of parliamentary elections anyway, Rzeczpospolita daily reported citing economists and analysts.
