DATA Poland's statistics office to publish final April CPI data at 0800. Poland's cetral bank to release trade balance data at 1200.


SOCIAL BENEFITS The Polish government will increase monthly child benefit payments to 800 zlotys ($193.13) per child from 500 zlotys from the start of 2024, the leader of the ruling Law and Justice Party, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, said on Sunday.


ECONOMY The peak of inflation in Poland is certainly behind and it might fall below 10% at the turn of the third and fourth quarters, head of Polish Development Fund (PFR) Pawel Borys was quoted as saying by Super Express daily.


BANKS Many Polish banks generated record-high profits in the first quarter of 2023 thanks to favorable conditions, including high interest rates, but maintaining such good results is subject to high risk, Parkiet daily reported.


SECURITY An unidentified object that entered Polish airspace from the direction of Belarus was probably an observation balloon, Poland's defence ministry said on Saturday on Twitter.


AIRSPACE Polish state-owned airline PLL LOT is investigating an incident involving a drone at Warsaw's Chopin airport, the PAP news agency reported on Sunday, citing an airline spokesman.
