ECONOMY Bank of Italy releases February data on public finances, state borrowing and debt.
(*) Electricity bills in Italy could rise by around 10% in the third quarter compared with the previous three months, Stefano Besseghini, the head of the country's energy authority ARERA, told a parliamentary panel on Thursday, according to several Italian newspapers. Besseghini reportedly said that in the fourth quarter electricity bills are likely to be about 25% higher than in the second quarter. Gas bills will be up by 5% in Q3 and by 15% in Q4, both compared with Q2, he reportedly said.
COMPANIES (*) AUTOGRILL On the first day of Dufry AG's takeover offer for Autogrill, the Swiss duty-free retailer's CEO Xavier Rossinyol told Il Sole 24 Ore daily that the new group will focus on the North American and APAC markets. Dufry's mandatory takeover will end on May 15. Rossinyol said he sees the merger already producing synergies this year.
