ECONOMY ISTAT releases March unemployment rate data (0800 GMT).
COMPANIES (*) UNICREDIT The lender raised its financial targets for the year, after posting a stronger than expected first quarter income. Net profit in the first three months came in at 2.06 billion euros, above an average analyst forecast of 1.3 billion euros, boosted by a bigger than expected 18% yearly jump in revenues.
(*) STELLANTIS The carmaker said on Wednesday its revenues rose by 14% in the first quarter of this year on higher shipments, favoured by an improvement in semiconductor supply, and strong net pricing power.
(*) MEDIOBANCA Italian tycoon Francesco Gaetano Caltagirone has increased his stake in the lender to 9.9%, a spokesperson for the publishing group said on Wednesday, confirming a media report.
(*) SAIPEM The group said it completed the transfer to KCA Deutag of assets corresponding to 44 onshore rigs in Latin America for around 40 million dollars.

Outgoing CEO Francesco Starace told la Repubblica on Tuesday he could stay on for no more than a month to help the transition towards a new management, reiterating he was not available for another term. CAMPARI Campari expects demand to hold up in its main U.S. market despite reports of weakness from some rivals, the Italian drinks group said on Tuesday, as strong sales of its Aperol bitter and tequila liquor in particular boosted first-quarter results.
PIRELLI The tyremaker said on Tuesday a shareholder agreement governing the company expired last week. Its planned renewal between investors Camfin and China's Sinochem will take effect from the calling date of Pirelli's annual general meeting which has been postponed to June 23 pending Rome's scrutiny of the governance arrangements under golden power rules, the company said.
AUTOGRILL Dufry said on Tuesday it had extended the tender period for its takeover offer on the Italian airport and motorway caterer until May 18.
